On the recently held meeting of the World Diaspora Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Birmingham it was decided to organize Second folk festival of Diaspora of Bosnia and Herzegovina for the second time in cooperation with the city of Bihac. The event will be held in Bihac from 11.06. - 14.06. 2015. After the last successful festival, the Main Board of the World Association did not have a difficult task in reaching this decision, since it was shown that the partners in the project perfectly understood their roles and did extremely good program. This year is expected to be seen an even greater response of folklore groups from all over BiH Diaspora.

The selector of the Festival is a member of GO SSDBiH from Slovenia Dinka Hrustanović, and she gave us the first information: "The competition for participation in the Folk Festival of Diaspora of Bosnia and Herzegovina is open until the end of February. The town of Bihac, which is often called the "Gate of Bosnia", has reopened its doors this, and its heart as well for  its diaspora and thus proved that our emigrants are very important part of BIH. The complete program will take place on the main square in Bihac in “Bosanska ulica” where it will be a big stage and where the citizens of Bihac and their guests will certainly enjoy the programs performed by Bosnian Folklore groups from diaspora. The aim of this event is to show our compatriots in the homeland that we in the Diaspora are very concerned about the preservation of tradition and culture of Bosnia and Herzegovina, then that in such manifestations our young generations learn who they are, what they are, where their roots are and, of course, to meet new friends and meet with peers from home. "

Who can participate and how many folklore groups can apply?

- All folklore groups from Diaspora of Bosnia and Herzegovina have a right to participate in folk festival. Priority is given to folk groups which are members of SSD BiH. Applications can be received also from other autochthonous groups from different countries, which will have the status of a guest. Also two folklore groups from Bosnia and Herzegovina will be participants. Number of folklore groups has not been determined, and it will be d etermined depending on the number of applications. Each folklore group will be presented with two choreographies that springs from the tradition of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Guest society will perform choreographies from the area of the country where they come from.

What is all planned in program and what are the expectations of the Festival?

- The festival program is designed so that young people do not get bored, so that through performances, socializing, singing and dancing they learn about their homeland from which they originated, and all its beauty. This festival is a very important festival for the whole Diaspora but for our citizens in BiH as well. Young people have a rare opportunity to improve speaking Bosnian language, to get to know the cultural values of BiH. It is an opportunity  to gather all Diaspora from whole world in one place to exchange experiences, interact and get to know their roots. In addition this is a great chance for BiH citizens to find out more about the work and commitment of the Diaspora regarding preserving the tradition of Bosnia and Herzegovina. SSDBiH  use the opportunity to thank the Mayor of Bihac  Emdžad Galijašević and his associates for continuation of many years of excellent cooperation between SSDBiH and the City of Bihac. "

You, my friend Tito, no one is allowed to touch!
The main reason for this lonely writing, and still writing by the woman, even from the Diaspora, is not the demand of the troubled politicians from our neighboring Croatia, to abolish the title "Marshal Tito Square" in Zagreb in front of the National Theater, but the same proposition to abolish the name of the main and most famous Sarajevo street: Marshal Tito Street in the capital of the Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sarajevo. ...
